About
Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where three friends kept sending each other screenshots of games we couldn't stop playing. At some point we figured we might as well write it all down properly. The site grew from that habit, and the tone hasn't changed much since.
We cover every genre because none of us plays just one thing. One editor lives for turn-based strategy, another can't put down cozy sims, and I mostly chase arcade and racing games during commutes. That spread keeps our catalogue honest and varied.
Games get picked for review the boring, reliable way: we play them for at least a few days before writing a single line. If a game bores us in an hour, we say so. If it surprises us in week two, we come back and update the piece.
We're independent and small, which means we answer to readers and nobody else. No sponsored verdicts, no inflated scores to keep anyone happy.
Lukas Brandt — Lukas has been reviewing mobile games since flip-phone Java titles and still keeps a drawer of old handsets for testing. He handles most of the arcade and racing coverage.
